Manipur government appeals Cocomi to withdraw decision to remove security forces’ barricade

Imphal: Manipur government has appealed Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (Cocomi) to stop the agitation to be demonstrated on Wednesday at Torbung Bangla, Bishnupur district.

The Committee had declared to move to Torbung Bangla on Wednesday for resettlement by pushing the central forces and barricade at the adjoining area of Bishnupur and Churachandpur district along Tiddim Road.

IPR minister S. Ranjan told reporters at auditorium of DIPR, here on Tuesday late evening, “Almost 700 displaced people have started resettling at Torbung Bangla, Bishnupur district.”

He appealed the people and the committee to stop the people’s movement.

He said the state government is continuing its effort for resettlement at other places.
