Imphal: Manipur Police has recovered a bomb at Moirang Okshongbung Makha Leikai near Hotel Elegance in Bishnupur district on Tuesday morning.
Moirang Police station received a ‘reliable’ information that a bomb was found present at Moirang Okshongbung Makha Leikai near Hotel Elegance.
On receipt of the information, the area was sealed and made secured by a police team of Moirang police station and informed the public of the presence of the bomb and not to come closer to the area, a police report said.
The bomb was identified as IED Dropper Shell and there was no depression over the surface where the bomb was found and no depression over the body of the bomb indicating that it was not dropped from high altitude or fired from a distance. Apparently it was left on the surface softly, it added.
The bomb was disposed at about 12.28 pm at Tronglaobi Meikambi Mamang at a paddy field by the Bomb Disposal Squad and Moirang Police Team safely, the police report said.
