Imphal: Former vice-chairperson of Manipur State Disaster Management Authority and former vice-president of state BJP unit Adim Pamei has condemned at the strongest term the killing of two innocent students by suspected Kuki militants.
Adim in a voice note said security forces should stop executing strong action towards students who are demonstrating for justice for the two students, Hijam Luwangbi and Phijam Hemanjit.
He expressed disappointment on arsoned of the office of BJP Thoubal district by some miscreants which is reported to be in connection with the present turmoil of Manipur. He appealed the public not to repeat similar unwanted action in the near future.
He said over the last nearly 5 months people of Manipur has been in a crisis between two communities. As an impact of the present crisis people across the state apart from the two communities (Meitei and Kuki) are also suffering.
Due to the present crisis, people across the state are suffering. To avoid shortage of essential items, Nahakpam Foods and Beverage company and Pamei Enterprises are taking initiatives on importing essential commodities through railway and through NH-37, he added.
In the present crisis many lives have been lost and many of them have become homeless, taking shelters are various relief centres, he said.
Pamei appeals the authority concerned to bring peace in Manipur and appeals the people across the state to cooperate in restoring peace in Manipur.
