Imphal: Clue to the death of two students, who went missing on July 6, will be found out soon, chief minister N.Biren Singh said on Saturday, stating that the CBI team are here taking up investigation to their death.
The chief minister was speaking to reporters at Irawat Square, Lilashing Khongnangkhong, Thangmeiband, where state government observed Jana Neta Hijam Irawat Day.
Biren condemned injuring of student agitators by security forces. He said he had provided instant assistance of Rs 50 thousand each to those students in hospital. He said he would provide required expenditure for the injured students.
Many students were injured during agitations in the valley demanding justice to the murder of two students (a boy and a girl from Imphal) allegedly by Kuki militants.
Enquiry against security forces involved in injuring the students is going on. They will be punished.
The CBI officials are in imphal. Clue to the dead will be found out soon.
The Irawat Day observation began with Biren Singh leading the other dignitaries and officials in paying the floral tribute.
Biren urged for collective fight against enemies of the state and people.
Transport minister Khasim Vashum, MLA Leishiyo Keishing, chairman, Loktak Development Authority, Moirangthem Asnikumar, chief secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi, advisor (Security) Kuldiep Singh, DGP Rajiv Singh and senior government officials also attended the observation among others.
