Imphal: Apropos to the statement issued by the ITLF in connection with the emergency shutdown in the four areas, namely Lonphai, Khousabung, Kangvai and Sugnu, claiming that these areas are under attack, DIPR Manipur has clarified that there is no any attack in the four areas as claimed.
“Lonphai, Khousabung, Kangvai and Sugnu areas are under attack by #MeiteiMilitants. ITLF calls for Emergency Shutdown with immediate effect in Lamka district,” said ITLF in a post on Twitter.
Manipur Police Control Room said it is being circulated in various social media that Lonphai, Khousabung, Kangvai and Sugnu areas are under attack. There has been no such incidents at Kangvai and Sugnu areas, it clarified.
However, exchange of fire occurred between armed miscreants at Lonphai, Khousabung. Security forces deployed in the area responded and subsequently firing has subsided. Situation is tense but under control, it added.
