Imphal: A combined team of Special Narcotics police station, Mizoram and 2nd Assam Rifles seized 256 gm of Heroin from the illegal possession two Myanmarese from Hlimen, Aizwal, Mizoram on Thursday.
In a statement uploaded in Mizoram Police facebook page it is mentioned that the two drug smugglers have been identified as one Vanzalala, 35, son of Nosanthang and Lalthanmawii, 42, daughter of late Vanhnuailing, both of Chhipchang, Myanmar.
Both the drug smugglers were arrested under ‘war on drugs’ of Mizoram during joint operation with sister agency.
A case has been registered under ND& PS Act r/w 14A Foreigners Act registered at Special Narcotic police station for further investigation.
Since the day Meitei-Kuki violence erupted in Manipur, seizing of drugs in Mizoram has been increasing.
