Imphal: Manipur Cabinet has recommended to governor Anusuiya Uikey for summoning the 4th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 21.
The development came up amid pressures from different civil bodies to convene emergency Assembly session to resolve the ongoing crisis in the state.
The governor had assured to a women group of Ima Keithel to convene the same by Thursday.
Law and Order minister Basanta Kumar on Thursday said process to convene Manipur Asembly session has started and planing to convene in August 3rd week as per constitutional procedure.
Manipur has been in turmoil since May 3, the day Kuki attacked Meitei people leading to the ongoing Narco-terrorism and ethnic crisis in the state.
