Modi appreciated for breaking silence, urged to comment on other issues of Manipur crisis

Imphal: People of Manipur welcome and appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breaking the silence on Manipur ethnic crisis condemning the naked parade of two women which video went viral.

This was stated by one of the protestors, Pakpi,

at Loitang Khunou ground, Imphal West, who were demanding to stop ‘Narco Terrorism’ and protesting against ‘Inhuman act’ on women. 

The Prime Minister should also comment on other issues of the present Manipur crisis, Pakpi said while talking to reporters.

Sekmai Kendra Meira Paibi (women folk) on Friday staged a one day sit-in rally at Loitang Khunou ground, Imphal West.

The protest rally was staged against the inhumane act on women in a video that went viral. Two women were seen parading naked at some place, said to be under the jurisdiction of Nongpok Sekmai Police station, Thoubal district.

“If the government is going to take necessary action against the culprits the government should take equal action for all the culprits in the crisis irrespective of any person,” Pakpi said.

“Stop Narco Terrorism, We are against inhuman Act on Women”; “Respect out mothers, sister, daughters”; “Crush narco terrorism now!”; “Women and children deserve respect”; “Justice for both, justice for all” and others were the slogans in the rally.
