Governor asks Union Health minister for help in crisis ridden Manipur

Imphal: Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey requested to extend all possible help in the crisis ridden Manipur, during the annual general meeting of Indian Red Cross Committee held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi on Monday. 

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu presided over the ceremonial session of AGM of IRCS and Union Health minister and chairman IRCS Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya along with governors of eight states were also present in this meeting.

Anusuiya Uikey appreciated all the members and volunteers of the Indian Red Cross Society for their dedication and exemplary service to humanity especially during the Covid pandemic. 

She expressed confidence that the Indian Red Cross Society would continue to work for the welfare of humanity by promoting the health and care  of vulnerable section of people and communities.

The governor particularly mentioned about the ongoing crisis in the state of Manipur in which around 150 people have died and 60000 people  are displaced. She mentioned about the problems and difficulties faced by the violence affected people in various relief camps.

Governor requested the Union health minister to extend every possible assistance to the affected people of Manipur in this difficult time. 

One proposal which entails the requirements was also submitted by Red Cross society Manipur to Union Health Minister in the meeting.

The accounts of income and expenditure of the previous years were also presented in the meeting.
