Congress ready to highlight Manipur issue in Parliament: Ranjit

Imphal: Indian National Congress is all set to table the issue of Manipur in the upcoming Parliamentary session, to discuss the present issue of Manipur, for which state Congress Legislative Party leader O. Ibobi has already stationed at Delhi with the central party leaders.

Congress MLA K. Ranjit said this on Saturday while interacting with a team of reporters who visited relief centers set up at Sugnu and Serou area.

Replying to reporters Ranjit said state Congress party along with other 9 like-minded political parties has been requesting to Manipur governor to summon a special session at Manipur Legislative Assembly to discuss the present crisis of Manipur.

He said the present issue could be solved constitutionally. If the 10 Kuki MLAs do not want to join the special session, the remaining 50 MLAs can proceed the session.

Even if Rahul Gandhi is not allowed to enter Parliament, the party leaders are ready to highlight the issue. To discuss the issues of Manipur, CLP leaders has already stationed at Delhi along with the party central leaders, Ranjit said. 

“Congress MLAs are ready to resign if our resignation can save Manipur and bring normalcy,” he added.
