Imphal: Joint action committee of Manipur Electricity Employees’ Union (MEEU), Power Engineers Services Association (PESA) and MSPDCL Officers Association (MOA) has cautioned to resume power outage and closing of bill counters if the government fails to practically fulfil the demand for implementation of 7th revision of pay.
Co-convenor of the committee Soram Sunnyboy said the power department is ready to give uninterrupted power supply as the government assured to fulfil the demand. However, if the government fails to implement the 7th pay (ROP-2019) by September 20, cease work strike and non-maintenance of power outages would be resumed.
Sunnyboy said the non-maintenance of power outages movement was withdrawn on Friday night after the authority concerned showed the approval letter and after giving a convey letter signed by under secretary (power) to the representatives of the committee stating to convey the state government’s approval for implementation of Manipur Services (Revised Pay) Rule, 2019 for the employees under the umbrella of MEEU, PESA and MOA.
The employees fixed ‘power trip’ power down at maximum till late night after considering the problems faced by the public, he said.
He clarified that JAC never encourage any employee for manual power tripping at any place.
The employees will try to fix the remaining power tripping areas of the state, he added.
The employees will continue staging sit-in at various power stations across the state till the implementation of 7th pay is entertained.
