Imphal: Manipur People’s Party (MPP) will govern the state by winning in the upcoming Manipur State Assembly elections, the party president Laishram Krishnadas said.
MPP preparing to produce intending candidates for each Assembly Constituencies for the state Assembly elections. Krishnadas told reporters on Friday at the party head office, here.
He said there are various states ruled by regional party. Delhi is ruled by Aam Admi Party (AAP), similarly in the coming election MPP will be ruling the government, he added.
People need to promote the regionalism. Recalling the past period of MPP government for two and a half years various contributions had been made to bring development for Manipur, he added.
During the then MPP government when Mohammed Alimuddin was the chief minister of the state, Manipur University was upgraded to central university and to promote agriculture sector central agricultural university was established in the state. He continued that Regional Institute of Medical Science was also established during the MPP government and Board of Education Manipur was also established under the initiative of MPP government, he added.
He appealed the people to support MPP which is a regional party in the coming election. MPP being a regional party could govern the state by giving priority on regionalism.
Two new members join MPP who could be intending candidate of the coming general election, he added.
The new members of MPP are Aseibam Dalish Singh of Andro Assembly Constituency and Ningthoujam Priyananda of Sekmai Assembly Constituency would be MPP candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections.
