“Akoimart” launched

Imphal: To reduce the suffering amid Covid-19 restrictions and to help people get essential items including books for students an online application “Akoimart” was launched at the community hall of Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak, Imphal East.

Bashikhong Zilla Parisad member, Chirom Jashobanta Singh said people has been suffering with the coming of Covid-19 second wave. Amid the pandemic the state government alone cannot take the responsibility to make essential items available at each doorsteps of every households. Students too suffer trying to get their books as all the book stores have been shut down for months. Though the state government has been taking up initiatives not to put a gap during academic sessions, students are facing problems on acquiring books, he added.

He appreciated for launching such online application so that people including students will get the facility to get essential items including drinking water and books without violating the SoP.

He said as people cannot not wait for the government to take initiatives, social workers and other organisations are initiating to assist the people by distributing essential items. Amid the present scenario the facility to provide essential items including books through home delivery system may reduce the suffering of the pandemic to a great extent, he added.

Akoimart proprietor Akoijam Surchandra Singh said it is much needed to avail the facility of home delivery service of essential items including books amid pandemic.
The application will not only benefited the people to get the essential items but also students can get their books easily, he added.

He said indigenous products of the state will be made available to entire north eastern state through the application.
