Imphal: A team of Wangoi police station seized suspected opium weighing about 7.805 kilogram and arrested one person in connection at Chandranadi Lamkhai, Imphal West on Saturday morning.
The arrested person has been identified as one Hijam Nandakumar Singh , 30, son of H. Heramani Singh of Thoubal Athokpam Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district.
While the police team was conducting random frisking and checking one four wheeler car white in colour bearing registration number, MNO4P-0269 was seen coming from Mayang Imphal side towards Imphal.
The police team detected the suspected opium in the car which was kept in 10 separate plastic packets.
The arrested person along with the seizures were brought to the police station in order to take further legal actions.
