Monitoring of patients in home isolation will be intensified: Biren

Imphal: The monitoring of patients in home isolation will be intensified where the team of doctors and other healthcare staff will start visiting each house with covid patients in home isolation to check up on their condition.

This was said by Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Saturday stating that certain anomalies have noticed in the standard practice of home isolation of covid patients.

The government will also provide medicines and pulse oxymeter for the patients, Biren said.

For those patients whose house doesn’t have adequate space to effectively isolate themselves, the government has decided to accommodate them Covid Care centre. This step is taken up to effectively control the spread of the virus that has been rising despite the curfew in place, he added.

“My earnest appeal to everyone is to get yourself tested if you think you have a symptom or even slightly suspect it. We will now have district wise testing facilities,” the chief minister writes on his Facebook wall.

“For any covid related support, please reach out to Covid Control Room and for any assistance of home isolation patients, please reach out to Chief Minister’s Covid Grievance Cell,” he says.

The chief minister had a ‘very insightful’ interaction with Covid patients in home isolation through video conference on Friday.

“With first hand information from the patients themselves, I could gauge how the government can do better in taking care of our patients in home isolation,” Biren earlier said.

He provided numbers 18003453848 / 0385244 0079 for the grievance cell.
