MOMA buys 10,000 cut flowers to motivate Purul florist

Imphal: Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) bought about 10,000 cut flowers from the florist of Purul, Senapati district for home delivery on Monday.

The initiative was taken up to promote the florist who have been doing the cut flower business by exporting from the state, which has been affected by the pandemmic.

To solve the problems of various florist in districts of Kangpokpi, Ukhrul and Senapati, MOMA bought the cut flowers starting from Purul village, project director of MOMA, K. Devdutta said.

He said people can get the cut flowers through home delivery after contacting the MOMA at affordable prices. MOMA is ready to provide for every demand of cut flower, he added.

MOMA will be sending complementing gifts of cut flowers to the Covid patients who are undergoing treatment at hospital to motivate them while fighting against Covid-19, he said.

Florists of Purul Atongba, Meijingngam said he has been doing the business of exporting cut flowers. Before the outbreak of the pandemic he could earn about 1.50 lakh but with the coming of the pandemic the business has been becoming lost, he added.

He expressed his gratitude towards chief minster N. Biren for buying the cut flowers from the florist of Purul Atongba during the pandemic.

The initiatives of chief minister will motivate the farmers who were suffering to find a market to sell their cut flowers, he added.
