Minister Vungzagin Valte travels 902 km to empower people

Imphal: To support and empower the people, spread awareness on Covid-19 vaccination and provide necessary material help, minister tribal affairs and hills minister Vungzagin Valte and his team travelled about 902 km to cover all 64 inhabited villages in Thanlon Assembly Constituency.

The epic feat takes 22 hours of traveling time through the rough terrains of the hills and walking on foot when necessary.

As a part of Seva Hi Sangathan 2.0 campaign and to mark the completion of 7 years of Modi government, the minister travelled far and wide within his constituency. Apart from distributing essential items like facemask, hand sanitizers and other covid related preventive materials, the minister sanction an amount of Rs 2 lakh for renovation and improvement of Covid Care centre building located at Thanlon PHC building.

The minister also visited the three Community Home Isolation centres situated at Thanlon, Sinzawl and Pherzawl village and donated mattresses, food items, face masks, sanitizers and medicines.

During his visit, the different village task forces, medical department and security forces decided to form a networking system for better and rapid intervention if the need arises.

The minister instructed government officials and urged the community leaders to be available for the people to provide any kind of help if and when required. “The joy is doubled when I see the happy faces of the people. The services rendered is more fruitful as the challenges become higher and higher,” the minister said.

The team demonstrated SoP guidelines, safe practices and provide necessary information for covid testing, treatment and care to the village task forces.

Thanking the minister and his team, the chiefs, CSO leaders and tribe leaders thanked the minister for his love and support in this crucial time when no one dares visit them.
