Biren continues to interact with patients in home isolation

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh continued his interaction with home isolation patients through video conferencing to understand their inconveniences and grievances on Sunday.

The initiative to attend to home isolation patients was taken up to ensure efficient monitoring by noting all their grievances and redress them with necessary action. Biren advised them not to feel depressed during their isolation period as they could easily recover from the infection within 14 days with proper medication.

Regarding financial hardship faced by patients getting treatment in private health institutions, the chief minister informed that the government, after consultation with stakeholders and considering the economic situation of the state, would issue an order notifying rates for treatment with different facilities including ICU, ventilator supports, etc.

As of now, the government had no provision for reimbursement of treatment costs to patients. However, the public could avail the benefits of Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang and Ayushman Bharat Yojana while getting treatment for Covid-19, the chief minister said.

He said the government has sufficient stock of RAT kits and also started mass testing for those people residing at containment zone areas. He also assured that required medicines, pulse oximeter and other necessary items would be sent to the home isolation patients through medical staff. He also wished the patients a speedy recovery.
