60 oxygen concentrators reached Imphal

Imphal: Manipur on Saturday received 60 oxygen concentrators from the ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) which was airlifted from Delhi by an IAF AN32.

These oxygen concentrators were contributed to the people of India by UNICEF through MoHFW.

“We are thankful to the contribution of UNICEF in this challenging times, ” Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said highlighting the information on his Facebook wall.

An oxygen concentrator concentrators collect oxygen from the surrounding air, concentrates it, and then delivers it to the patient, removing the need for replacement or refilling. Oxygen concentrators are capable of producing up to 95% of pure oxygen.

Biren also informed that the availability of oxygen will be improved significantly as the oxygen plant at Shija Hospital was functional. This plant has a capacity of producing 230 D-type oxygen cylinders per day.
