Imphal: One old hand grenade was found while unloading earth at the residence of one Ningombam Rashitombi, 67, wife of late N. Kula of Bashikhong Thongkha under Irilbung police station.
The bomb was found while unloading earth to fill up the foundation of newly constructed house of Rashitombi at about 5 pm on Friday.
The earth was reportedly loaded from Thiyam Konjil, Imphal East district.
A police team along with a bomb disposal squad went to the spot and recovered it safely at about 1.34 pm of the Saturday.
The said old hand grenade was disposed near the construction site of UNACO located at Angourok, Imphal East.
