Imphal: Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) acting upon a specific intelligence in coordination with police apprehended one suspected cadre of UKLF from Canan Veng, Moreh on Saturday.
The suspected cadre was hiding in a house and refused to open the house entrance. After repeated instructions to open the door, the door was finally opened by a person who identified himself as Thangminlal Mate, 25 years of Molphei village, Moreh. On thorough checking of the room one AK Rifle, three AK Rifle magazines, 184 AK Rifle live ammunition, one KECHADO mobile phone, one magazine pouch, and one rifle sling were recovered, Assam Rifles said in a statement released on Monday.
On cross-questioning the individual, he revealed himself to be a cadre if UKLF group which in under suspension of operations. The cadre has been handed over to Moreh Police for subsequent legal action, it added.
