Manipur recorded 25 fresh cases during targeted testing in Wangoi and Wangjing assembly constituencies on Saturday. On the first day of testing, the state also recorded 95 positive cases from Wangoi assembly constituency.
270 persons were confirmed positive of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, out of which 229 were from general population and the remaining 41 were Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. They were tested at JNIMS (62), RIMS (25), Imphal East (8), Imphal West (37), Maipakpi (2), Escent Diagnostics (8), Shija Hospital (37), Imphal Hospital (1), Christian Hospital (1), Swiss Clinic (2), IRL (5), Raj Medicity (10), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (16), Tamenglong (4), Senapati (3), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (17), Kangpokpi (4) and Babina Diagnostics (18).
Among the 229 positive cases from general population which included the new 25 cases from Wangoi and Wangjing assembly constituencies, 121 were males and 108 were females. They are from Imphal West (98), Imphal East (56), Thoubal (20), Bishnupur (21), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (14), Senapati (5) and Kangpokpi (5).
COVID Common Control Room said, “All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Cam facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.”
In the past 24 hours, a male aged 70 years from Imphal West district expired at Raj Medicity. Meanwhile, 193 COVID-19 patients were recovered and discharged from CAPF (34), Home Isolation (59), RIMS (19), JNIMS (15), LKK (23), UNACCO (22), RD Wing (3), Sadbhavna (2), PR Kakching (3), TK Ukhrul (4), Bal Bhavan (2), Thoubal (6) and Jiribam (1).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 23,018 with 20,047 cases coming from general population and 2,971 cases from central security personnel. The cumulative number of deaths is 233 out of which 229 are from general population and 4 are from central security personnel.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 19,813 out of which 17,059 cases are from general population and 2,754 cases are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,972 with 2,759 and 213 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 86.07%.
