Manipur COVID-19 report: 200 fresh cases; 189 recovered

Manipur recorded 200 fresh COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, out of which 188 cases came from general population and the remaining 12 from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel.

All the positive cases were tested at JNIMS (15), RIMS (23), Imphal West (61), Maipakpi (4), Escent Diagnostics (10), Advance Hospital (1), Asian Hospital (1), Grace Nursing (1), SWISS (1), CMC (2), RD Wing (5), Little Clinic (1), Nazareth (1), Raj Medicity (14), Hillside (2), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (3), Tamenglong (16), Senapati (3), Ukhrul (4), Kamjong (3), Kangpokpi (2), Tengnoupal (2) and Babina Diagnostics (20).

Among the 188 positive cases from general population, 109 are males and 79 are females. They belong to Imphal West (114), Imphal East (22), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (16), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (2), Senapati (2), Kamjong (7) and Kangpokpi (5).

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room in their 5pm report on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, a male aged 58 years from Thoubal district expired at Shija Hospital. However, 189 COVID-19 patients were recovered and discharged from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (119), LKK (10), LANVA (11), UNACCO (11), RD Wing (7), PR Kakching (9), TK Ukhrul (3), JNV Chandel (2), Bal Bhavan (10), Thoubal (3), Tamenglong (1) and Jiribam (1).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 22,748 out of which 19,818 cases are from general population and 2,930 cases are from central security personnel. The cumulative number of deaths is 232 with 228 from general population and 4 from central security personnel.

The cumulative number of recovered cases is 19,620 out of which 16,900 cases are from general population and 2,720 cases are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,896 with 2,690 and 206 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 86.24%.
