Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 13, 2020: Despite of restrictions imposed with lockdown to prevent from Covid-19 pandemic in the state people continued to violate government directives to stay safe at homes.
Manipur police department in continuation of its function to crack down on violators of lockdown/ curfew to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the state 661 violators were detained along with 373 vehicles on Monday.
They were produced before the concern Magistrates and imposed Rs 61, 300 as fines.
The police department appeals to the public to follow the guidelines issued by the government and stay indoors for their own safety and safety of the public.
For those who come out to purchase medicines/ grocery items on the days markets are open. They are requested to maintain social distancing. The Police department will continue to enforce lockdown/curfew strictly in the days to come, ADGP L. Kailun said.
