Imphal, November 4 2017: An intensified explosive device was blasted this morning near by a paddy field at Konthoujam Laingam village along the National highway 37 between Keithelmanbi and Khumbong.
The powerful blast took place at around 9: 15 am. However no human casualty was reported. It was expected to target foot patrolling party of 6 AR at Keithelmanbi, said the source.
Security forces including state police rushed at the blast site.
There has been a series of IED threats since the last few months. The last threat was at Khoyathong on November 30. An IED was found placed at a godown at Khoyathong, which was later exploded safely by bomb experts.
An IED blast in Chandel district took lives of two AR Jawans injuring six others on November 13.
On October 8 another IED was also blasted damaging a moving car at Nagamapal.
