Imphal, October 14: Two children one girl of aged about 3 years and one boy of 5 years old from the same family today died of bee sting at Tajeikaiphun (Keikru Naga) village under Nungba police station.
Both the children succumbed due to severe condition at Nungba C H.C. Two boys from the same have also been hospitalised and they were said to be in a critical condition at Nungba CHC.
The incident happen when the four brothers and sister went to their farm and one of the elder brother shot to the beehives with a catapult. The bees chased out and bit in multiples.
The succumbed children were Gaipuidinliu Rongmei aged about 3 and Poudungai Rongmei aged about 5 years, children of Anand Rongmei.
The brothers who remained critical were Luke Rongmei and Obedient Rongmei.
The dead bodies has been claimed by the family members and the injured two brothers were given first aid at Nungba CHC and further referred to Imphal for the medications.
The father is a meitei from Moirang and married to a Rongmei woman from Tajeikauphun (Keikru Naga) and is living in her wife village.
The mother’s name is Chamdanthailiu Kamei.
