Two days River Bank Music Festival, 2017 is underway propagating the message to together endeavour save the rivers flowing through Imphal from degradation.
The encouraging event is jointly organised by organised Leipung Wah Entertainment and Nongmaishang as its fourth edition of its campaign to stop contamination of rivers in the state at Brahmapur Bhagyabati Leikai in Imphal East district near by the river bank of Imphal Turel.
Tapta, Sori Senjam, Kennedy Khuman Sampaa, ReCycle, Nongyai Hee, The Cajon Diaries, Echil Enao, Pendulum Swing, Sanahidak are the performers at their best in the two days festive campaign.
The festival was launched today with the performance by the Ichil-Inao group and Tatpa’s presentation of its theme song composed by Jayanta, vocalist of Tapta.
Director of Leipung Wah Entertainment Tom Maisnam said the festival was organised to draw attention of the people and the government over the alarming scene at the rivers while people are creating havoc of the rivers through encroachments and making them as waste dumping place.
He said through the festival the organisers are attempting to draw attention of the government over the issue and to urge the government to implement proper plastic recycling plan and integrated waste management system and to spread awareness about the need to keep the rivers and water bodies clean.
