Shops along Thangmeiband Assembly road shut down

Imphal: Shops along Thangmeiband Assembly road were shut down on Thursday against the ‘unbearable monetary demands’ from various organizations.

Sources said different organisations have imposed monetary demands on jewellery shops, computer stores, departmental stores, pharmacies, tutorial centres, hotels, fast food centres, restaurants and chicken centres located along the road stretch.

All shops along the Thangmeiband Assembly road were shut down. Few pharmacies were seen opened.

The road was almost deserted. There were no vehicles seen parking along the stretch.
