Ima Keithel vendors demand to remove security advisor, DGP in one week

Imphal: Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee has demanded to remove security advisor Kuldiep Singh and DGP, Manipur, within a week.

The demand was made on Thursday as convener Laishram Memma of joint coordinating committee was addressing a group of reporters.

The women vendors condemned the government’s silence on the escalating violence.

“Churachandpur and Moreh are burning. “Jiribam remained untouched until the recent tragic killing of a Meitei person. Handover the power to people if the state government and India government cannot. We will resolve within ten days,” said Memma.

“Is there a hidden agenda of killing all Meitei?” Asked Memma.

She said 10 Kuki MLAs demand separate administration. They are not related with Manipur anymore, so they should disqualified. The remaining 50 MLAs, instead of sitting idle, should come out from their quarter. They should join Imas going to Jiribam, she said.

Demanding immediate intervention, the women called for MLAs and ministers to visit Jiribam.

Memma said security advisor and DGP are not aware about Manipur, they don’t even know Manipuri langauge, they are not in touch with Manipur’s reality, they should be transferred within a week or else face strong agitation, she cautioned.

“It is not the time to celebrate Modi’s victory when your state is facing hardship”, said Memma to CM Biren Singh, asking him to join coordinating committee while visiting Jiribam.

Memma even asked the chief minister to stay with them in the middle during the visit if he is afraid of walking in front.

“This is last warning,” Memma said.
