Imphal: Just three days after election result of 18th Lok Sabha was declared, suspected Kuki militants on Friday attacked Meitei village with country-made bombs at Sekmai in Imphal West district, Manipur, which is about 25 kilometres away from Imphal.
The incident was occurred at Pangaltabi along the Sekmai river.
The incident occurred after killing of a Meitei in Jiribam district allegedly by kuki, on Thursday.
Sources said the bombs were fired towards the Meitei labours who were working at Sekmai river to collect quarry and sand.
The labours escaped from the spot as the bomb attack was followed by several rounds of gun shots.
No causality has been reported and Manipur police has taken security measures in and around the area.
Later, in the evening Kuki militants from Phailen village fired several rounds towards Sekmai Nongthomband and Pangaltabi.
Manipur police in the area have been alerted.
