Curfew relaxed

Imphal: Manipur government has relaxed the curfew imposed in five valley districts of Manipur from 5 am to 10 pm of Wednesday.

Full curfew was imposed in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur districts following tension arose out of the firing incident the led to the death of four persons and injuring of 13 persons.

Due to the developing of law and orders in the district, there is need to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate general public to purchase the essential items including medicines and food items. The restriction of movement of general public outside their residences is hereby lifted for January 3 from 5 am to 10 pm for all areas of Imphal West district, Dr. N. Johnson Meetei, additional district magistrate, Imphal West said in an order issued on Tuesday.

Similar orders were issued for the other four districts.
