Security forces recover arms and ammunitions in Manipur

Imphal: During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense with sporadic incidents of firing, arson and congregation of protestors, Manipur Police Control Room said on Monday.

Search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Churachandpur, Thoubal, Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching districts and recovered one arms and four explosives from Imphal East and Thoubal districts.

Movement of 141 vehicles along NH-37 with essential items have been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, the police control room said.
