Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Saturday handed over eight ambulances to Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) for the 2nd phase.
With this distribution the state government accomplished its objective to provide three ambulances each to six ADCs of the state.
The ambulances consisted of one Advanced Life Support (ALS) each for all the six ADCs and one Basic Life Support (BLS) each for Senapati and Tamenglong ADCs.
The distribution programme which was organized by department of tribal affairs and hills was held at the western gate of the chief minister’s secretariat.
For the 1st Phase, the chief minister had earlier handed over 10 ambulances on June 16 including two BLS each to the ADCs for four districts of Churachandpur, Chandel, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul while one BLS each to the ADCs of Tamenglong and Senapati districts.
Biren said he was happy to handover the ambulances to the ADCs in presence of ministers Vungzagin Valte, Awangbou Newmai and officials of the state government .
The ambulances were procured with the fund allocated by the department of tribal affairs and hills as part of strengthening the health infrastructure in the district and block level of ADCs, he added as he writes on his Facebook wall.
