Imphal: Chief minister N. Biren Singh visited the 600 bedded Covid Care centre being set up at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong in Imphal West and took stock of the arrangement being made at the centre.
The centre will start operating by Saturday evening. Biren interacted with deputy commissioner, Imphal West Th. Kirankumar and the health department officials, who were present at the centre, about the ongoing arrangement being made at the centre.
He discussed matters regarding cleanliness, proper disposal of waste generated at the centre and the duty roster of the health workers to be employed at the centre among others.
He appealed to the doctors present at the centre to render their services with much dedication and commitment as they have a crucial role in successfully fighting the pandemic and saving the lives of the people.
The chief minister was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Kongkham Robindro, advisor to chief minister (health) Dr Sapam Ranjan and principal secretary V. Vumlunmang.
The team headed for Babina Specialty Hospital at Jail Road, Sajiwa, Imphal East and had a look over the arrangement made at the hospital for treatment of Covid patients.
He was happy to see the infrastructure and arrangement made for accommodating Covid patients and their treatment. The hospital has managed to provide around 30 beds for treating Covid-19 patients.
Biren Singh also paid a visit to the newly constructed Iland Hospital located at Canchipur and looked at the infrastructure and facilities available at the hospital. The hospital will also be used for the treatment of Covid patients very soon, an official statement said.
