Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has been in touch with his ministers, MLAs and officials in trying to protect lives of his people from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Biren on Thursday chaired another round of meeting with elected representatives and state officials concerning proper care for the safety of the people.
“Had another round of extensive discussion with concerned ministers, MLAs and officials to effectively tackle the second wave of Covid-19, ” Biren writes on his Facebook wall.
He said the meeting had minute deliberations to ensure regular checking and proper care of Covid-19 patients in Hospitals and Covid care centres by doctors, effective manpower management, increase in ICU beds, isolation beds, ventilators, oxygen concentrators and oxygen supply.
“Please co-operate to government’s efforts. Follow SoPs, stay safe,” the chief minister appeals.
Biren keeps updating the people on procuring and producing oxygen, on initiatives taken up to increase Covid wards in hospitals and Covid care centres, any on vaccination programmes in all the districts of the state.
Three days earlier Biren chaired a review meeting to assess the availability of oxygen in the state and discussed various measures to fast track production of oxygen in the government and private facilities.
In order to monitor production round the clock and also to ensure efficient supply of oxygen to hospitals, the government had deputed one dedicated officer to each of the oxygen manufacturing plants.
The chief minister personally visits Covid care centres and hospitals to check the developments taken to combat the pandemic.
Manipur on Wednesday recorded highest single day Covid-19 related death cases of 10 while 397 fresh cases were confirmed in 24 hours.
The cumulative number of deaths was 434. The cumulative number of positive cases was 33, 353 and active cases was 2657. The recovery rate was 90.73 percent as on Wednesday.
