Imphal: Manipur Legislative Assembly on Friday resolved to urge Centre to preserve and develop INA complex of Moirang Kangla and related places of HQs of INA during the second world war, Pallel air field and Koirengei airfield and battle fields as an attraction sites.
The House also passed six demands for grants, 2021-2022 amounting to Rs 4073,75,32,000 including education (Rs 2555,27,87,000), municipal administration, housing and urban development (Rs 721,76,24,000), election (Rs 74,30,34,000), water resources department (618,38,97,000), horticulture and soil conversation (Rs 98,39,00,000) and science and technology (Rs 5,62,90,000).
College teacher recruitment under process
Education minister S. Rajen Singh informed the House that recruitment of over 190 college teachers of different disciplines were under process.
Under School Fagathansi Mission the government has a plan to select one school each in every constituencies. After a long closure of education institution due to Covid-19 pandemic, schools were re-opened with the approval of the Cabinet since January 27, from Class IX to XII following the SOP and guidelines issued by Education department, the minister said.
Fund misappropriation in Moirang Municipal Council
MAHUD minister O. Henry said the government has implemented PMAY in the state and 3651 houses have completed construction and the rest are on the verge of completion.
Replying to a policy cut motion raised by opposition MLA K. Govindas, the inister informed the House that as per a report submitted by Local Fund Audit, there were instances of misappropriation of fund in the Moirang Municipal Council. While participating in the discussion the chief minister assured the House that a committee will be constituted and appropriate action will be initiated as per report of the committee.
