Imphal: Based on credible intelligence Assam Rifles troops intercepted three individuals traveling in two Maruti Gypsy vehicles and recovered Rs. 10.6 Lakhs cash.
The vehicles were intercepted at 1:30 AM on 05 November early morning while moving from Yairipok to Namlee village. Both were moving without any vehicle registration plates and the drivers didnot have valid car documents.
On inspection of the vehicles approximately Rs 5 lakh were recovered from each vehicle, Assam Rifles said in a press statement release on Thursday.
The two individuals driving the vehicles were identified as Amos Athary and Thanglian Sengtong both residents of Somrai. They were accompanied by Longjam Premjit Singh, resident of Yaripok.
The apprehended individuals, vehicles and Rs. 10,60,400/- in cash were handed over to Police authorities at Kasom Khullen Police Station the release said.
