Assam rifles intercepts three suspects carrying suspicious money in Kasong

Imphal: Based on credible intelligence Assam Rifles troops intercepted three individuals traveling in two Maruti Gypsy vehicles and recovered Rs. 10.6 Lakhs cash.

The vehicles were intercepted at 1:30 AM on 05 November early morning while moving from Yairipok to Namlee village. Both were moving without any vehicle registration plates and the drivers didnot have valid car documents.

​On inspection of the vehicles approximately Rs 5 lakh were recovered from each vehicle, Assam Rifles said in a press statement release on Thursday.

​The two individuals driving the vehicles were identified as Amos Athary and Thanglian Sengtong both residents of Somrai. They were accompanied by Longjam Premjit Singh, resident of Yaripok.

​The apprehended individuals, vehicles and Rs. 10,60,400/- in cash were handed over to Police authorities at Kasom Khullen Police Station the release said.
