Imphal: Social welfare minister Nemcha Kipgen on Thursday announced that a fund for National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) has been transferred to the beneficiaries account through Direct Benefit Transfer using PFMS.
Nemcha said a sum of Rs 4,97,74,000 was released by the ministry of rural development, as first installment of financial assistance wuth effect from April to June 2020-21 under NSAP for payment of pension benefit/financial assistance to the beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme(IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme(IGNWPS),Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme(IGNDPS) and National Family Benefit Scheme under National Social Assistance Programme.
Altogether, 61,770 beneficiaries will be receiving the pension amount for the durations of October, 2019 to December, 2019 in their respective bank accounts; 55,160 beneficiaries are for Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme(IGNOAPS), 5355 beneficiaries for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme(IGNWPS), 911 beneficiaries for Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme(IGNDPS) and 344 beneficiaries for National Family Benefit Scheme (2020-21).
The minister appealed all to follow the SOPs in view of the Covid-19 pandemic while dispatching the funds in their respective banks/ATMs, a DIPR press release said.
