Lancha said the Goodwill Mission people met the ex-officials and representatives of the UNC, went to Delhi to urge the central leaders and talked to the government to settle the issue. “It was a long process and during the course we couldn’t disclose what we were upto as it might disturb our mission and now we have come up successfully for the initiation of the Tripartite talk” added Lancha saying that the mission has been looking forward for a peaceful solution to the blockade.
The Goodwill Mission for Peaceful Coexistence was formed with the motive to bring peace and harmony among various communities in the state by understanding the woes and voice of the people. It was formed when there was fear of outcome of communal enmity in the state when the economic blockade was countered by a section of people in December last year.
