Imphal: A new five-bedded Pre-Delivery Residential Centre for pregnant women with furnishing along with a furnished Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre and Paediatric Ward, were inaugurated at Chandel District Hospital on Wednesday.
The facilities were inaugurated by MLA, SS Olish, in the presence of deputy commissioner Shri L. Nandakumar Singh, IAS, Addl. DC/CEO Firoz Khan, and CMO Dr. Joyson Mathew Monsang.
MLA Olish commended the dedication and tireless efforts of the hospital’s medical staff. She noted that their selfless service to every patient inspires her to continue ensuring the availability of essential provisions.
The MLA expressed pride in the development and improvement of road and transport facilities in the district. She assured the public of further developmental initiatives in the near future and urged citizens to extend support and cooperation to newly posted officials to enable continued progress.
The deputy commissioner expressed appreciation for the hard work of the concerned hospital team, emphasizing that the Chandel District Hospital is the first among the district hospitals to have such a facility apart from JNIMS, in the state.
Under the guidelines of Niti Aayog, the district has been able to attain its scheduled parameters which are made possible and accomplished by the combined efforts of the district administration and the concerned department, he added.
The event was attended by various village leaders, government officials, and members of the public.
