Imphal: Airport Authority of India (AAI) has informed the general public that it is mandatory to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for height clearance for all buildings and structures near Imphal Airport.
“In accordance with the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024 (Indian Aircraft Act, 2024), the Aircraft (Demolition of Obstructions Caused by Buildings and Trees, etc.) Rules, 1994, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s notification on “Height Restrictions for Safeguarding of Aircraft Operations” [MoCA GSR 751(E), dated 30th September 2015], it is mandatory to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for height clearance for all buildings and structures,” AAI said.
This requirement applies particularly to structures falling within the Red Zone of the Colour Coded Zoning Map (CCZM) of Imphal International Airport, and more broadly to all constructions within a 56-kilometre radius from the airport’s Aerodrome Reference Point (ARP). To streamline the process, the AAI has introduced the No Objection Certificate Application System (NOCAS) — an online portal for submitting height clearance applications.
The system is accessible via the AAI website at www.aai.aero or directly at https://nocas2.aai.aero. The portal also provides an interactive map to check permissible building height limits.
“Any violation concerning the height of existing buildings, structures, trees, or land within the specified limits or any non-compliance with the stated regulations will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the 1994 Aircraft Rules.”
For any clarifications related to height clearance NOC, the public may contact Imphal International Airport at apdimphal@aai.aero.
