Imphal: Manipur joined the rest of the world to observe the International Day of Yoga, on Saturday.
Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, graced the observation held at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium in Imphal.
The state-level event witnessed the participation of over 900 individuals, including students, public servants, yoga enthusiasts, security personnel, and members of the public. The governor led the people in performing yoga asanas insisting it to be a habit in everyday lives of the people.
This year’s International Day of Yoga was observed with the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, The theme also reflects the idea of ‘Humanity 2.0’, shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which encourages a more balanced and thoughtful way of living.
The Yoga Day was also observed at the Raj Bhavan, Imphal, where the governor led the officials and staff in a yoga session in a serene and disciplined setting.
