Imphal: Manipur Police department has taken up all efforts to arrest Paojakhup Guite, Prez KSO Delhi for threatening Meitei community not to cross buffer zone to attend Shirui Festival in Ukhrul.
The state government scheduled the 5th edition of the Shirui Lily Festival to be held in Ukhrul district as first state level festival organised outside the Imphal city during May 20-24.
As regards to one Paojakhup Guite, Prez KSO Delhi threats (in a video ) to the Meitei, to not allow to cross the buffer zone to attend the upcoming Shirui Festival in Ulhrul, which is circulated in social media since Friday, Churachandpur police has registered an FIR and all efforts including raid etc in nearby districts were being made for his immediate arrest, said a Manipur Police media post on Saturday.
The police of neighbouring states of Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya, etc., have been requested for arresting him as quickly as possible, it added.
“All necessary security arrangements shall be made to ensure security of people attending the Shirui festival.”
Security arrangements have been strengthened to ensure the safety of attendees at the Shirui festival sites. Law enforcement agencies have assured that adequate measures will be in place to prevent any disruption.
Manipur State Transport had issued notice to provide dedicated bus services from Imphal to Ukhrul between May 20 and May 24.
