Imphal: Shri Shri Balmukndadev Government Music College, the lone government Music College of Manipur celebrated 63 Foundation Day on Tuesday at its auditorium at Palace Compound, here.
Indian Classical music concerts violin recital by Moirangthem Cherish, Table recital by Elangban Khogen Singh and vocal recital by Dr.Rajkumar Satyadita were the main highlights of the celebration.
The Special Commissioner Art and Culture department M.Joy Singh graced the occasion as chief guest, former principal of the ollege Laimayum Devendrajit Sharma presided over the function while former head of department Violin M.Kumar graced as guest of honour.
Joy Singh stressed the need to take care the artistes by their children in the time of old age,many of the Veteran artistes faced hardship after retirement.
The chief guest president , guest of honour narrated the history of the College and thanked the family of H.Devkishor Sharma for constructing the present building of the college.
