Imphal: Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), has demanded the governor to apologize to the people in 48 hours on the alleged directive by security forces to remove the word “Manipur” from the labels of a Manipur State Transport bus ferrying journalists who were on duty to cover the 5th Shirui Lily Festival in Ukhrul on Tuesday.
The coordinating committee also demanded the resignation of security advisor Kuldiep Singh, chief secretary PK Singh, and DGP Rajiv Singh within 48 hours, holding them accountable for the incident.
The security personnel allegedly instructed MST officials to remove the word “Manipur” from the bus levels so that the bus could proceed. The bus was arranged by DIPR. The journalists cancelled their assignment and immediately returned to Imphal in a private vehicle.
