Imphal: Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chawdhary, visited strategic locations of Manipur, focusing on maintaining operational readiness and supporting civil administration in restoring normalcy.
The Director General arrived in Imphal on May 24 to review the law and order situation and interact with security personnel deployed across Manipur. He landed at Imphal Airport at 1:05 pm on Saturday and was received by senior officials, including Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh; BSF additional director general (Eastern Command) Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS; IG BSF Mizoram and Cachar (M and C) Frontier Sanjay Kumar Misra; IG subsidiary training centre (STC) BSF Churachandpur Indra Deo Singh, and other senior BSF officers.
The PRO Frontier Headquarters BSF (M and C) said, “Shortly after his arrival, the DG proceeded to Sector Headquarters Counter-Insurgency (Operations) Manipur, reaching around 1:30 pm. At 3:00 pm, he was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing security and law and order situation in the state. He also held a lengthy interaction with Sector officers regarding ground-level developments.”
In the evening, at approximately 6:20 pm, Chawdhary visited the 10 Battalion BSF Counter-Insurgency Post at Capital Complex. During his visit, he witnessed a demonstration and engaged with the troops, commending their dedication and professionalism in ensuring security in the region. He called on security advisor Kuldiep Singh and Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh before returning to SHQ CI (Ops) Manipur.
On May 25, the BSF chief addressed officers and jawans at SHQ CI (Ops) BSF Koirengei during a Sainik Sammelan. His address was streamed via video conference to BSF personnel deployed across multiple districts in Manipur. He praised the troops for their unwavering efforts in safeguarding the region and motivated them to continue their service with the same dedication.
Later in the day, Chawdhary visited BSF companies deployed in the fringe areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts. He interacted with personnel on ground and expressed appreciation for their work in sensitive operational zones. The DG also stopped at the Tactical Headquarters of the 10 Battalion BSF at Loktak, where he further encouraged troops to maintain their efforts in upholding peace and security in the area. After concluding his official engagements, the DG BSF departed for New Delhi on Sunday.
