Imphal: Manipur director general of lolice Rajiv Singh, accompanied by the Imphal West police superintendent and the commandant of the 2nd Manipur Rifles, visited the sites of the drone attacks along the Kangchup hill stretches, including Kadangband, Koutruk, and Senjam Chirang, in Imphal West on Tuesday.
Narco-Terrorists attacked Manipur valley on Sunday and Monday creating devastation with human casualties.
The police chief told reporters that the government has sought assistance from Delhi.
A high-level committee has been constituted to counter high-tech drones. The department has requested experts from Delhi, including the NSG, to address this type of drone attack. Currently, search operations are going on at 3-4 sites of drone attacks, he added.
“This is a new phenomenon. Violence has escalated. The police department takes the matter seriously.”
