Imphal: Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have destroyed two bunkers in Kangpokpi district, recovered large cache of arms and ammunitions recovered in Manipur on Friday and Saturday.
Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area, S Mongpi Ridge of Kangpokpi district, Manipur Assam Rifles and Manipur Policd launched a operation on Saturday and destroyed two bunkers whlist also recovering one Improvised 303 Rifle, one 9mm Pistol, one 12 Bore Single Barrel, two long range Improvised Mortar and war like stores the Assam Rifles said.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, it added.
The Assam Rifles also said acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area, village Yangoubung in Tengnoupal District, Manipur, Assam Rifles launched an Area Domination Patrol on Friday and recovered one lathode gun, one 9mm pistol, four local made pompi, one local made mortar, two single barrel guns and ammunition.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, it added.
