Imphal: In wake of flash flood in Manipur the government has extended closure of schools and colleges including government, government aided, private and central till June 4.

In an order issued and signed by the Directorate of Education (school), L. Nandakumar Singh on Sunday mentioned that in view of the widespread destruction and inconviniences caused to many households and installations across the state due to incessant rain and floods for the last few days.

The order also mentioned to the closure of schools and all the activities related with admission process at school will continue till June 4.

It directed all the Zonal Education Officers/ DI of schools (independent charges) under the department of education- school, Manipur to inform all concerned under their respective jurisdiction and take up necessary actions accordingly.

The flash flood not only inundated many households but also many schools.

In an order issued and signed by joint secretary (higher and technical education), government of Manipur, Laishram Dolie Devi on Sunday mentioned that all the higher secondary education institutions of the state government, government aided and private shall remain closed till June 4 as the number of houses and roads are still flooded and even the houses where water has receded are yet to habitable.
